K-9 used to track alleged child molester

SEATTLE -- Police used a K-9 to track an alleged 29-year-old male child molester from his house to a hiding spot Monday night.

Officers responded to a call at 10:30 p.m. in the 11600 block of Beacon Avenue South that indicated a man was fondling himself next to his 11-year-old stepdaughter. When the man was spotted by witnesses, he allegedly fled.

Police set up a containment around the home and used a K-9 to track the man within 20 minutes of the call. The suspect was located in the 11800 block of 54th Avenue South. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of child molestation.

Detectives from the Seattle Police Department's Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit have been assigned to investigate the incident. It is unknown if the man has any prior convictions.
