Local child chef shines bright at White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. --  The White House opened its doors to the top pint-sized chefs in the nation Tuesday as part of the annual "Kids State Dinner Luncheon."

First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed 54 kids to the executive mansion for creating winning recipes as part of a health lunch contest. The kids represented each state, the District of Columbia, and three U.S. territories. More than 1,300 children ages 8 to 12 submitted recipes.

Among the junior chefs in attendance was Amber Kelley of Woodinville. She's a regular guest on Q13 Fox News This Morning. She represented the Evergreen state with her "Nummy No Noodle Lasagna."

President Obama made a brief stop at the event to welcome all the young chefs.

Amber says she had a blast, and said it was a treat to meet the first family.
