Handgun replica gets man arrested on UW campus

SEATTLE -- A man was arrested Sunday in the University of Washington Odegaard Library after students saw what they thought to be a handgun in his waistband, The Seattle Times reported.

UW campus police responded to reports of a man with a gun in the library around 4:30 p.m.

Officers found the 23-year-old man in the library computer lab with what appeared to be a 9mm handgun tucked into his pants, the Times reported.

The man, who is not a UW student, was arrested and escorted out of the library. Police then discovered the gun was only a replica, according to the Times.
