Four Snohomish County residents arrested, accused of illegal gun sales
Four Snohomish County residents have been indicted by a grand jury for allegedly selling more than 50 firearms to an undercover investigator.
The four were arrested Wednesday morning.
According to the indictment, the suspect sold guns to an undercover law enforcement agent in the parking lot of the Tulalip Resort Casino in Marysville. Authorities say some of the sales took place in other parking lots of businesses in Marysville or Arlington, or at a Marysville residence.
“These defendants, convicted felons, were selling dozens of high powered firearms with no sales record and no concern about where these guns would end up,” said U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan in a released statement. It continues, “Our region has seen too much heartache come out of the end of guns. Law enforcement will continue to work together to stop the illegal flow of guns into our communities.”
The investigation was conducted by the Snohomish Regional Gang and Drug Task Force, the Seattle Police Department, the FBI and the ATF.
“A potentially dangerous and harmful element has been removed from Snohomish County as a result of this collaborative investigation between federal, state and local agencies,” said Snohomish Regional Gang and Drug Task Force Commander Pat Slack.
