SEATTLE -- A Bremerton veterinary hospital has become the first in the state to offer stem cell therapy for pets.

According to the Kitsap Sun, veterinarian Charles Crawford owns Compassionate Critter Care Veterinary Hospital and he is offering stem cell therapy through a company called MediVet America.

The stem cell therapy is designed to help pets who are having problems with osteoarthritis. The procedure is done in the clinic in just a day, the Sun said.

But the treatment can set you back between $1,200 and $1,800, with treatments lasting from six months to two years.
