Federal judge sentences brother-sister drug dealing team
SEATTLE -- A federal judge on Monday sentenced the second half of a brother-sister drug dealing team to five years in prison for her part in a scheme to ship narcotics from the Los Angeles area to Seattle.
Los Angeles resident Robin Brown, 52, is facing 62 months in prison and four years of supervised release after pleading guilty in March to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.
Her brother, Terrell Brown, was sentenced last month to 37 months in prison and three years of supervised release for his part in the scheme.
At Monday's sentencing U.S. District Judge James L. Robart noted the dangers of abusing the drug oxycodone.
Court records show U.S. Postal Inspection Service Investigators were alerted to Robin and Terrell Brown, after more than 90 Express Mail packages were delivered to Terrell Brown’s Seattle apartment over a one-year period.
Investigators say Terrell Brown received multiple Express Mail packages each week and purchased a new Cadillac Escalade, despite reporting little income.
Last summer, as investigators were searching Terrell Brown’s apartment, they say another package arrived at the apartment containing 240 pills of oxycodone.
Robin Brown pleaded guilty on March 14 and her brother pleaded guilty two weeks later.
