SEATTLE -- A Snohomish County bride filed a lawsuit against a Redmond wedding boutique, claiming she was sold an ill-fitting, used wedding dress that nearly ruined her big day, the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported.

Nicole Tombley accuses Amanda's Bridal Boutique of giving her a used wedding gown in August 2012, after she paid the shop more than $2,000 for a new dress.

In the lawsuit, Trombley claims she opened the dress bag a week before her wedding and found a gown with "stains, rips, frays" and parts missing, the P.I. reported. To further support the claim that the dress was used, the designer later confirmed Amanda's Bridal had not purchased any dresses from them in the prior year.

Trombley was promised a refund and the boutique agreed to allow her to take any dress in the shop for free, the P.I. reported. An attorney for the bride said Trombley has yet to receive that refund. She did get a new dress, but it reportedly required days of alterations.
