LakeStevensLAKE STEVENS — In Lake Stevens, police have a murder mystery.

A young woman in her 20’s was found dead in a home on 15th Street Southeast.

They say the woman was found dead and she obviously died from homicidal violence.

This all started Monday morning when a man called 911claiming he had found a woman in the house who appeared to be deceased.

When police arrived they found the woman.

Most of the day was spent waiting on a search warrant before crime scene investigators could get inside the house to try to figure out what happened.

Right now we don’t know who the woman is or exactly how she died.

Neighbors suspect it could be a case of domestic violence.

“I just can’t believe it happened in Lake Stevens.  She was a sweet, very beautiful 25 years old and then out of the blue this happens in our neighborhood,” neighbor Millie Smith said.

“We want to follow every possible lead, get any possible information we can as quickly as we can,” Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Jeff Brand said.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is taking the lead in the investigation at the request of the Lake Stevens Police Department.

That will certainly bring more resources to bear as investigators try to figure out exactly what happened to this young woman.

Anyone with information should call 911.
