Fire risk expands recall of popular SUVs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – General Motors is recalling nearly 200,000 mid-size SUV’s, as part of an expansion of a recall last August.

GM says there is a problem in the master power door and window in the driver’s door. The glitch can cause a fire, even when the SUV isn’t in use. As a precaution, the NHTSA recommends owners park outside and not inside a garage.

The recall affects the 2006-2007 Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, and Saab 9-7x. GM is contacting owners and dealers.
