Ballots go out to recall embattled mayor

PACIFIC, Wash -- King County Elections will mail out ballots Wednesday for the special election to recall embattled Pacific Mayor Cy Sun.

The state supreme court ruled that Sun violated his oath of office by trying to use the police department as his own personal force, and by jeopardizing the city's liability insurance when he failed to fill vacant department positions.

Sun has maintained that a culture of corruption was prevalent in the city's prior administration, and voters sent him to city hall to clean it up.

Three-thousand Pacific residents will receive ballots later this week. The ballots must be post-marked by June 25 or returned at a drop-off location in order to be counted.
