WMW viewer tips end Seattle police; U.S. Marshal manhunt for three armed robbery suspects

MARSHAL LOGOFUGITIVES CAPTURED June 4, 2013 -- Seattle detectives say thanks to the coordinated and cooperative efforts of the US Marshals Pacific Northwest Fugitive Task Force with members in Seattle, Tacoma and Eugene, OR, the Seattle Police Robbery Unit, Washington’s Most Wanted and Crime Stoppers, all three suspects in a violent armed robbery at Gold and Silver Traders on April 3, 2103 are in custody. The shop owner in this case was pistol whipped, tied up with duct tape & electrical cord, and the suspects threatened to kill him several times. Police say the third and final suspect featured this past weekend on WMW was identified by a viewer.  Detectives say he is 16 years old and is the one accused of carrying the handgun used in the robbery.  Prosecutors say he will be tried as an adult. He is being held in the King County Juvenile Jail.

SENECA HOWELL

The U.S. Marshals arrested 18 year old Seneca Howell in Lakewood last Friday.

LAWRENCE BOTTS On May 23, The US Marshals Task Force arrested 20 year old Lawrence Botts at a motel in Eugene, Oregon where he was staying under a false name.  Detectives say he was headed to Oakland, CA when he was caught. The case is now in the hands of prosecutors to get justice for the victim. The successful identification and arrest of the 3 suspects is the perfect example of how the partnership between law enforcement, Crime Stoppers, WMW and the public is working to get dangerous suspects off our streets. FUGITIVES WANTED IN SEATTLE May 31, 2013 -- Two of three suspects have been apprehended and police are looking for the public's help in locating the last guy-- only known as 'Zak'. Seattle police made the second arrest in connection with a robbery where three men are accused of tying up a business owner, beating him, pointing a gun in his face and threatening to kill him. Disma Kagarabi was robbed and tied up at the Gold and Silver Traders. "He said, 'Don't move, if you move, I'm going to blow your head up. If you just make a bad move, I'm killing you right now'," Kagarabi told police. But even after that violent incident, Kagarabi returned to work the next day. Police have photos of the three suspects -- one of them is Seneca Howell and the other suspect is Lawrence Quin Botts. Both have been caught and taken into custody. The photos show the suspects on the light rail train in early April. Police said the third suspect is a man who goes by the name "Zak," and is of East African descent. Kagarabi told police that "Zak" spoke Swahili and that he had seen him before the incident. "Zak" was also identified as being the one with the weapon. "It's very sad because this kid he came before. He told me he was in a refugee camp in Kenya. That's where he learned to speak Swahili," Kagarabi said. He also said that when "Zak" threatened him, he reminded him that he had once helped him. "I told him, 'You are like a son to me. I've been very nice to you when you come to me, one time I even gave you $10 when you told me you were hungry, so you don't have to do this'." The suspects used electrical cord to tie Kagarabi up and stole $4,000 before fleeing. Kagarabi used his teeth to gnaw through the cord and free himself. "We know him as 'Zak,' we don't know if that's a first name, middle name, last name. Most importantly, this was the guy that was armed with the pistol. We need to get him off the streets. If you have any information on this Zak, please call our hotline," Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound said. In this photo, "Zak" is the guy wearing a dark gray Northface jacket on the left. If you know where "Zak" is, call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. Your call is guaranteed to be anonymous, and you could be in line for up to a $1,000 cash reward. You can also text a tip here.
