Man attempts to rob Lovers store, grabs a few goodies, half a mannequin

SEATTLE -- It wasn't the best-thought out caper, and after all his efforts a suspected burglar got away with very little.

Martin Walker, director of marketing for Lovers Package, said that shortly before the Silverdale store closed for the day on Tuesday, a man snuck into the store and grabbed a mannequin. As he was making his way out the door, the bottom half of the mannequin fell off and he bolted with only half of his newfound "doll."

Later, after the store was closed, the man, wearing a disguise, returned and smashed the store's glass door to gain entry. He then is seen on surveillance video grabbing some lingerie for his new "friend."

It didn't take police long to track him down -- he left a trail of lingerie and sex toys and his getaway vehicle was a bicycle.

"For all his efforts, he didn't get away with much," Walker said. He added that this incident was a "pretty unusual situation."

The suspect was booked into the Kitsap County Jail under suspicion of second-degree burglary and third-degree theft. His bail was set at $55,000.
