Alaska Airlines flight attendants rally for better wages

SEATTLE -- Alaska Airlines flight attendants are holding a rally for better wages and pressing management for a new and fair contract, according to the Association of Flight Attendants.

The union said flight attendants will gather outside the Bell Harbor International Conference Center, 2211 Alaskan Way Pier 66, while the Alaska Air Group holds its annual stockholders meeting.

According to the union, contract negotiations have been ongoing for the past 18 months and mediation is set to start in July.

The rally gets underway at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
