Police on the hunt for Lake Stevens bank robber

LAKE STEVENS -- Police in Lake Stevens are seeking tips from the public in hopes of catching a man who robbed a bank in Frontier Village.

Investigators say a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses walked into the Whidbey Island Bank just after 3pm Friday afternoon.

Police say the man approached a teller and demanded cash, claiming he had a gun.

The robber got away with an unknown amount of money. Officers said he was last seen running toward the Taco Time in the shopping complex.

A police K-9 was called to the bank to try and track the suspect down, but was unsuccessful.

Police believe the man is in his 40s, about 5’6” tall and has a medium build and a “large nose”. He was last seen wearing the aforementioned hoodie with blue jeans and brown shoes.

Investigators are asking anyone who may recognize the suspect to call 911 or the Lake Stevens Police Department at (425)334-9537.
