VIDEO: ‘Chainsaw pot burglar’ arrested

PIERCE COUNTY — A man accused of breaking into two medical pot dispensaries with a chainsaw was arrested Tuesday night following a failed burglary attempt, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.

The suspect allegedly robbed the Power Plant Health & Wellness center in the 10200 block of 123rd Street Saturday night. The owner of the medical marijuana dispensary said the man used a chainsaw to cut through the center’s front door and stole multiple jars of pot.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect tried to rob a different Pierce County pot store Tuesday night and was caught by police. He is being held in Pierce County Jail and will be charged with robbery in Pierce County Superior Court.
