EDMONDS, Wash. -- This time of year, it's a tradition across the country -- excited kids going for broke looking for treasure during Easter egg hunts.

But controversy surrounds this years egg hunt in Edmonds, after a newspaper column pointed out that the city removed the name 'Easter' from the event.

But the city said until now, it hasn't had a single complaint since it stopped using the word Easter 13 years ago -- in 2000.  The city released a statement saying, "We want to recognize and welcome all citizens to our events, regardless of faith."

Residents had varied opinions about it, however.
