Search suspended for missing hiker

Missing Person Ira ClodfelterREDMOND, Wash. — The search for a missing Redmond hiker was called off Thursday evening, four days after the 28-year-old man was reported missing.

Ira Clodfelter of Redmond was last heard from by a friend on Sunday, the Redmond Police Department said. His vehicle was located by park rangers Tuesday night near Rattlesnake Mountain in North Bend, Wash.

According to Redmond police, Clodfelter told friends he would be hiking in the area Sunday. He bought water and granola bars early Sunday morning, and a day-pack he usually carried with him was not in his car. More than 60 search and rescue personnel from King, Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston counties searched the hiking trails around the Rattlesnake Mountain area on Wednesday and Thursday. The search was called off late Thursday.

Clodfelter is a white male, 28 years old, 5’4:” 124 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to wear a blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and hiking boots.
