The buyback will take place under Interstate 5 on 7th Avenue in downtown Seattle between James and Cherry.

Gun owners will get a $100 Amazon gift card for most guns and $200 for assault rifles.

Gift cards will also be handed out for any high-capacity magazines that are turned in.

All guns have to be intact and working.

The event was funded by donations from Amazon, as well as Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll’s community outreach program ‘A Better Seattle’, which donated $10,000.

Thanks for the notice. I'm looking for a few specific pieces to fill out my collection. I'll be out on the sidewalk in front of the building with cash making private sales with whoever I want, WooHoo!

I'll be there with cash in hand as well. If you have a gun that isn't rusted shut and you would rather have cash than a gift card, let's see if we can make a deal.

I had a lot of thoughts when I heard about this the last time it happened, and how people would actually sell their personal protection as our society becomes more and more violent . It seems somewhat strange that all this effort is being used to dis-arm the population, now I'm no history major, but didn't Hitler do the same thing, and wasn't that enough of a history lesson to remind the American people to wise up and stop letting politicians and special interest groups deceive the public into believing that gun ownership is bad and that the events that happen in our society by individuals who have psychotic breaks and try to tie them to the honest gun owning citizens and try to give them a complex and make them feel guilty for owning firearms. I don't want to slander people and I definitely don't want make anyone feel remorse for your decision to participate in this event but just remember once you sell them they are gone and you one day wake up and need it, then what? Please reconsider and think about our forefathers who died to give us these freedoms, Honor them and keep America a Free country.

I saw that story on the and the year was 1992. A gun buy back only solves part of the problem not all of it. Don' t believe the NRA propaganda.

Great buying opportunity. Also… amazon depending on your response you might end up with many law abiding citizens boycotting you. I just cancelled all my autoorders ($100+ a month) and am holding off buying some music.

I wonder how many gang members and criminals lined up to get their $100 gift cards. Wake up people. Not one of these guns bought during this buy back was "taken off the streets." These are mostly guns that people don't use anymore, don't use at all, or were handed down through the family and the person just doesn't want it in the house. These buy backs don't do anything but waste tax payer money.
