Thanksgiving fundraiser for injured gymnast

The 15-year-old was injured Nov. 16 while practicing a dismount; the injury left her paralyzed from the mid-chest down. She is currently at Harborview Medical Center where she is recovering from surgery.

Doctors told Miles she may never walk again, but her friends and family are hopeful that if they can raise enough money for continued medical care that Miles may one day walk again.

Miles' injury is unusual as she was practicing a typical dismount but said she opened prematurely and said she "got lost" before her second flip was complete and landed on her neck on the gym mat. The fall dislocated her C4 vertebrae, causing her to be paralyzed.
