Getting your summer fashion into gear

Ladies, it’s hard to believe it’s finally time to store those sweaters and winter coats, but with the sun out, here are a few easy and inexpensive ways to update your summer wardrobe, courtesy of two of our favorite style experts.

Darcy Camden of Styled Seattle Personal Styling and Tiffany Lowry of Tiffany Colors shared their expertise on everything from color-blocking your outfits to wearing the best shades of makeup for summer.

If we lost you at “color blocking”, let us explain: following the latest trend doesn’t have to bust your budget, AND these ideas are perfect for the working mom, or anyone looking for a pop of color.

Darcy explains: “Color-blocking is a current fashion trend that pairs dynamic complimentary colors together. The look is bold, playful and perfect for summer. The key to wearing this look well is sticking to two solid colors; wearing more than two bright colors can look clownish."

As for makeup, Tiffany says you can incorporate fun summer colors by picking just ONE feature to highlight- lips, eyes, or cheeks. If, for example, you wear a bold lipstick, keep the eyes more natural. Want to do a fun smoky eye? Keep the lips neutral or softer.
