hopkins1RENTON — A felony murder warrant has been issued for Jerome “C.J.” Linzy Hopkins in connection with the death of Lonnie Reynolds, who was shot in Liberty Park in Renton May 22, police said Thursday.

Reynolds, 20, was shot following a dispute at the basketball court. She was shot in the abdomen and died later at the hospital.

Police asked for the public’s help in locating Hopkins, 31, who is 6-foot and 305 pounds.  Police said he is associated with a dark-colored 2002 BMW 745 four-door sedan with the Washington license plate AIT0364. Police said he may also have access to a red 2005 Suzuki GSX R60 with Washington license plate 972478.

Police said Hopkins should be considered armed and dangerous and asks the public with any information on him to call 911 or the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500

shooting1SEATTLE — The female victim in a shooting late Wednesday night at Renton’s Liberty Park died Thursday morning at Harborview Medical Center.

The 20-year-old woman was shot following a dispute at the basketball court. She was shot in the abdomen.

Police are trying to locate suspects. Witnesses are encouraged to call the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500.

shooting1RENTON — Police are looking for suspects and witnesses in a Wednesday night park shooting in Renton that left one woman fighting for her life.

According to the Renton Police Department, officers received a number of 911 calls reporting a shooting around 10:30 p.m. at Renton’s Liberty Park in the 1100 block of Bronson Way North. When police arrived, they found a 20-year-old woman laying on her side with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she underwent surgery.

Her condition was unknown Thursday morning.

Police said a fistfight between two women escalated into a brawl between two groups of individuals. Members from both groups pulled guns and an unknown number of shots was fired. Most of the subjects present during the flight fled following the gunfire.

Police are encouraging anyone who witnessed the shooting to call Renton Police at 425-430-7500.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
