Empty Kent home goes up in flames

kent fireKENT – Kent Fire investigators are trying to figure out what started an early morning house fire in Kent.

Just before 2:30 a.m., someone called 911 saying they smelled and saw smoke coming from their neighbor’s house in the 23900 block of 43rd Ave. S.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the back and the roof of the home.

Firefighters were able to knock the main fire down quickly, but spent an hour working on hot spots.

No one was home at the time of the fire.  Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
