Bio

I came to Q13 FOX News in October 2005 and I love living and working in the Pacific Northwest.

When I was a child I would watch the news with my father — that was when I decided that I wanted to be a television journalist. My role models were Max Robinson, Ed Bradley and later, Bryant Gumbel.

Being a reporter has given me the opportunity to move around a lot with my job.  After getting my degree in Mass Communications from Grambling State University, I started at a small station in Monroe, La., and also worked at TV Stations in Tyler and Austin, Tx., Memphis, Tenn., Milwaukee, Wisc., and finally here at Q13 FOX News in Seattle.

Some notable stories that I’ve worked on include: The election of President Obama, both elections of President Bush, an F5 Tornado in Texas, Nelson Mandela and the Shuttle Columbia. I have also received several awards over the years for my work before the camera and in the community.

In my spare time i like to run, weight lift, watch TV and cook. I’m also a single father of five-year old-James, III. I love living in Western Washington because of the mountains, water, nearby islands and the fact that Canada is so close.

For me, the best part of my job is talking to people all over the community, so if you see me on the street feel free to ask me about anything, give me a call, friend me on Facebook and/or follow me on Twitter. You can also contact me at jameslynch@q13fox.com
