Bio

I grew up in northern Virginia, but I’m excited to call the beautiful Northwest my home. Before joining Q13 Fox, I was a reporter/anchor for the ABC affiliate in Knoxville, TN.

My career started at CTV 76, a non-profit cable access station serving Prince George’s County, Md. While an undergrad at the University of Maryland I reported for Capital News Service and interned at the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C.

I am a naturalized U.S. citizen and I was born in Korea. I am fluent in Korean and I enjoy combining the two different cultures in my everyday life.

I’m known around the newsroom for…

Reliability and energy. Co-workers who work with me enough also know I have a big appetite for food.

What keeps me going…

The feeling I get after doing a good job on a story that could help the community in some way.

I give back to my community by…..

Asking the right questions and trying to be fair and objective. I hope to inspire by sharing compelling stories that belong to people of all backgrounds in the community.

My greatest TV moment…

When I was in Knoxville, I worked on finding the source of where most of the illegal prescription pills that were coming into the state were from. My investigation took me further south, where I uncovered a Florida-to-Tennessee pill pipeline. My series exposed the devastating impact of the epidemic on the community and the station aired a one-hour prime time special. I received numerous awards, including a Murrow for Best Investigative Report and An Associated Press for Best Enterprise.

TV moment I would like to forget…

I was getting ready for a live shot when we started having some technical problems in the field. I was captured on live TV mumbling to myself for a few seconds until I realized we were on the air. I was practicing a line, but unfortunately I just looked ridiculous.

If I had free time, I would…..

Visit family and friends on the East Coast, bargain shop, read a good autobiography, take a dance class, go hiking or cycling and conquer new recipes in the kitchen.
