2 teenage girls shot, killed outside apartment complex in Burien; no suspects found





BURIEN, Wash. -- Two teenage girls were shot and killed in the 13900 block of Ambaum Boulevard SW in Burien on Wednesday night after some sort of altercation outside of an apartment complex, the King County Sheriff's Office said.

The two victims found by deputies were rushed to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, but they died of their injuries, the sheriff's office said.

Sgt. Ryan Abbott, the spokesman for the sheriff's office, said it was initially thought that it was a drive-by shooting, but the shooting was later determined to have taken place outside of an apartment complex during some sort of altercation.

"We still don't know the motive for it," he said.

"We have nobody in custody, no suspect description," he added.

He said, however, that there were several witnesses, who said one or two or more suspects appeared to have left the area in a vehicle after the shooting.

No other details were released.
