19-year-old shot in parking garage near Pioneer Square



SEATTLE -- Detectives are investigating a shooting on the edge of Pioneer Square that sent a 19-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to a parking garage in the 100 block of James Street just before 7 p.m. Sunday where they discovered two men inside the garage. One man had been shot twice in the abdomen. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The other man told authorities they had been walking near 1st Avenue and Cherry Street when a dark-colored sedan pulled up and the passengers confronted them.

An argument ensued, and one of the suspects pulled a handgun and fired several shots, striking the 19-year-old victim.  Both men then ran to a nearby parking garage.

Witnesses told Q13 News they heard six or seven shots fired.

The suspects are believed to be in their twenties. The dark-colored sedan could be a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.
