Body of Pierce County sheriff's deputy Daniel McCartney escorted to funeral home



TACOMA, Wash. -- With police, firefighters and citizens lining the route, the body of slain Pierce County sheriff's deputy Daniel McCartney was escorted Tuesday afternoon from the county medical examiner's office to the Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood.

It hasn't been disclosed yet where the deputy will be buried or when. The 34-year-old married father of three and his family lived in Yelm.

McCartney was shot and killed while responding to a home-invasion call in Frederickson late Sunday night.  One suspect was killed and another suspect was arrested.

The 34-year-old married father of three was a Navy veteran.
