Seahawks trade for veteran OT Duane Brown, give up Jeremy Lane

SEATTLE -- On the eve of the trade deadline, the Seattle Seahawks have acquired veteran offensive tackle Duane Brown, multiple sports outlets are reporting.

But the Seahawks are giving up cornerback Jeremy Lane and possibly a 5th and 2nd round draft pick, according to the NFL's Ian Rapoport.

The details of the trade have not been officially disclosed, but recently Brown’s name was linked to trade rumors with the Hawks.

Brown currently plays for the Houston Texans and made his season debut Sunday against the Seahawks.

The Seahawks won that game 41-38, but Brown played 68 of 71 snaps for the Texans.

Brown was also the most outspoken Texans player following comments by owner Bob McNair.

A story in ESPN The Magazine last week revealed that McNair said: “we can’t have the inmates running the prison” during a meeting of NFL owners about players who protest by kneeling during the national anthem.

Just before 5 p.m. Monday, Jeremey Lane thanked Seahawk fans for the last 5 years saying, "I had a blast the 5 years I was here. Now for a new journey... Houston here I come!"
