Road rage shooting leaves 16-year-old boy in critical condition, Everett police say

EVERETT, Wash. -- Police said Monday they were investigating a road rage incident that escalated to a shooting and left a 16-year-old boy in critical condition.

Police spokesman Aaron Snell said that about 3:45 p.m. Monday, officers received reports of a road rage incident near Casino Road and Evergreen Way between a white SUV and a black Honda Civic.

A short time later, he said, officers received calls of shots having been fired in the 8000 block of Beverly Boulevard. Witnesses reported the occupants of two cars firing at each other and described the vehicles as the same type that were involved in the earlier road rage incident. Officers found shell casings at the scene but didn't find the two vehicles.

At about 4 p.m., officers were told that a 16-year-old boy arrived at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett - Colby Campus with a gunshot wound. The teen was admitted in critical condition. He was brought to the hospital by a black Honda Civic, police said.

"At this time, there is no information on the white SUV or truck and it has not been located," Snell said.

Anyone with information about this incident or knows the suspect is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
