Man shot, killed at central Tacoma convenience store; another man detained

TACOMA -- A man was shot and killed at a central Tacoma convenience store Monday night, Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

She said the shooting involved two men in their 20s who both had guns, and that the shooting occurred at about 6:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of South 12th Street.

"One was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead," Cool said. "The other stayed at the scene."

Cool said that the other man has been detained, and the police are not looking for anyone else.

No other details were immediately released.
