Man convicted of drugging, raping child over several years

RICHLAND, Wash.  — A West Richland man has been convicted of drugging and raping a girl over several years.

The Tri-City Herald reports 39-year-old Kevin Hubbard was convicted this week of two counts of child rape, child molestation and three counts of distributing a controlled substance to a person under 18.

Hubbard was arrested in August 2015 after the victim went to police.

Deputy Prosecutor Anita Petra says the girl reported the abuse when she was in grade school and in later years Hubbard gave her drugs, including LSD and marijuana, before raping her. He also made threats against her.

Hubbard remains in jail in Kennewick pending sentencing.
