Sting nets capture of Bremerton man accused of attempted child rape

SEATTLE -- A Bremerton man has been accused of seeking to have sex with a young child during a police sting operation.

Seattlepi.com reports that the 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday during a meeting with an undercover Seattle Police Department detective after telling the detective he wanted to pick up young girls from schools and sexually assault them.

Police say the man was carrying sexual lubricant and condoms at the time of his arrest.

According to court documents, the suspect contacted the undercover detective through an online forum and graphically described the sexual abuse he wanted to inflict on children.

The suspect has been charged with attempted first-degree child rape. He is jailed on $350,000 bail.

The investigation into his activities is ongoing.
