Seattle Storm announce 2017 schedule, including opening day showdown with Sparks

SEATTLE -- The WNBA opens its season on May 13 with the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks hosting the Seattle Storm.

The league announced the regular-season schedule on Tuesday. The opening game will feature the Sparks' league MVP Nneka Ogwumike and finals MVP Candace Parker against the Storm's rookie of the year Breanna Stewart and veteran Sue Bird.

The Storm will play the home opener the very next day on Sunday, May 14 hosting the Indiana Fever. You can see the full Storm Basketball schedule for 2017 here.

Seattle will have the 6th pick of the upcoming WNBA draft.

The WNBA is entering its 21st season. The regular season ends on Sept. 3.
