USPS offers $50,000 reward after attempted armed robbery of letter carrier in Bothell

BOTHELL, Wash. -- The United States Postal Inspection Service is offering a $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of trying to rob a letter carrier in Bothell.

According to USPS, the male suspect walked up to the letter carrier around 1:50 p.m. on Nov. 1 near 169th St SE & 35th Dr SE and displayed a handgun. The suspect tried to steal items of value, but the carrier smashed the suspect's hand in the car door and fled.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, approximately 5' 10", 170 pounds, with dark brown chin hair, and in his 30s. The suspect was wearing a black/dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a zipper.

The suspect got away in what appeared to be a late 80s or early 90s red Acura Integra. He was reportedly with two women at the time of the attempted robbery.
