Man found shot on street in Des Moines, rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries

DES MOINES, Wash. -- A man was found shot on a street in Des Moines and rushed to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries Wednesday, police said.

The police department said they began receiving reports of three to four shots fired at 2:06 p.m. at 216th and 30th Avenue South. Officers found a black man lying on the ground with at least one gunshot wound.  The gunman fled on foot, according to witnesses.

Residents described the suspect as a black man in his 50s who was wearing a tan- and gold-striped jacket and possibly faded blue jeans.

Police said they don't know if there was a connection between the two men.
