Do you know how to install tire chains?

SEATTLE -- Plan on snow and ice across US 2 today and Thanksgiving.

Over-sized vehicles are already banned on Stevens Pass. As of Wednesday morning, WSDOT did not require drivers to use chains.

Traction tires are also 'advised' on Snoqualmie Pass too, and over-sized vehicles are banned.

Before you hit the road check your tires to see if they are acceptable snow tires. They will have a symbol of a mountain and a snowflake on the wall of the tire if they are.

Tire chains are not required right now, but that could change depending on weather conditions. Check out the latest weather forecast, here.

The Department of Motor Vehicles says putting tire chains on your car isn’t hard but, should be practiced before you head out.

They also advise never to attempt to use chains that are too large or too small for the tires.
