SEATTLE – People from all over the Puget Sound region joined hands in peace, love, and solidarity Saturday.

About 3,000 people formed a human chain around the Green Lake Path, which is about 2.8 miles, in a peaceful protest against fear, hate, racism, sexism, homophobia, and Islamophobia that was brought on by the recent election.

The event was inspired by a similar demonstration in Oakland, Calif. last Sunday.

Also on Saturday, about 450 people rallied against President-elect Donald Trump in Tacoma. The group began in Wright Park then they marched up Sixth Avenue and Sprague.

A third protest against Trump is expected to take place Saturday at 10 p.m. at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
