Washington inks another top recruiting class led by Porter

SEATTLE -- Washington Huskies basketball has signed five players to national letters of intent, inking one of the top recruiting classes in the country for 2017 led by forward Michael Porter Jr.

Washington announced a recruiting class that is rated by some recruiting services as being in the top five in the country. Along with Porter — the son of Washington assistant Michael Porter — the Huskies also signed guards Daejon Davis, another top 50 recruit, Jaylen Nowell and Blake Harris and forward Mamoudou Diarra.

Porter is the gem of the class and even at 6-foot-10 is considered a wing player. Porter is ranked among the top five players in the country by various recruiting services. He averaged 28.5 points per game as a high school junior.
