Pedestrian seriously hurt after being hit by car in north Seattle

SEATTLE -- Police are investigating a crash in north Seattle after a pedestrian was hit by a car Thursday morning.

Officers were called around 5 a.m. to the intersection of NE 145th St & 25th Ave NE.

Washington State Patrol troopers said the car was heading westbound on NE 145th St when a pedestrian in dark clothing walked into traffic.

Trooper Rick Johnson said the driver had a green light when the pedestrian stepped into the street. The pedestrian was taken in very critical condition to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The victim has not been identified.

Johnson said the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with police. There were no signs of impairment, he said.

The road was cleared and back open by 7 a.m.
