Oregon woman discovers burglar inside her home hours after police left
CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — A Clackamas County woman said she found a man inside her son’s bedroom Monday afternoon.
Patrice Johnson said she came home Monday morning and found her sliding glass door had been shattered.
Johnson, who called police within minutes, said they came and swept the house, but determined no one was inside.
KPTV reports around 2:30 p.m., while she and her friend were cleaning up the mess that was left behind from the break-in, she realized she was not alone in her son’s bedroom.
“Somebody was crawling on the floor and I was like ‘that’s not my friends feet,'” Johnson said. “My husband was downstairs vacuuming, I could hear it, so I just went and I tapped him on the shoulder and I was like, he’s in the house still.”
Johnson said she ran outside and got her neighbor who helped her husband trap the burglar.
“He was like in the middle of the stairs and then I saw him and Jason grabbed a shovel and we kind of just made sure he wasn’t leaving,” the neighbor said.
The family discovered the strange man had done some peculiar things while inside the family’s home.
“He changed into the neighbor, Jason’s clothes, so he had all of his nice Seahawk’s shirt and everything, he put his dirty clothes in the hamper,” said the neighbor.
Police arrived back at the house and arrested the man, whose name has not yet been released.
Fox 12 tried to reach out to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s office about the call but we have yet to hear back.
