Whitman College: Students may have been drugged at parties

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — Whitman College has sent out warning notices to students after several students reported symptoms that suggest they may have been drugged at parties.

The Seattle Times reports (https://goo.gl/WJwHbZ ) the warnings were sent out Monday in connection with student parties in the last two weeks.

The private college is working with the Walla Walla Police Department to investigate.

College spokeswoman Gina Ohnstad says all the victims were women and each student's symptoms "were unusual enough for each reporting party to suggest they may have been drugged."

Ohnstad said the message has also been sent to the parents of Whitman students.

Whitman's student newspaper reported that at least 10 women had reported symptoms consistent with the use of date-rape drugs over the last two weekends.
