Voter turnout high in King County, nearly 50% of ballots returned

RENTON, Wash. -- Ballots are steadily coming in at the King County Election Headquarters as time is running out to fill, and return ballots.

King County reports that 46.6 percent of ballots have already been returned.

Elections officials expect 84 percent of voters will turn in their ballot across the state on or before Election Day.

Ballots need to be postmarked by November 8 or dropped off at several drop boxes throughout the county.

You can find a list of locations, here.

Once you mail or drop off your ballot, you can check the status of your vote online.

We ran into voter Rena Cann Sunday morning at the election headquarters. She said it was important for her to drop off her ballot in person.

“I want to know where it’s going. I want to make sure it’s going where it’s supposed to go,” Cann said.

Ballots are sorted and verified before being scanned into the computer system.
