Police arrest trick-or-treater, 14, accused of stabbing Federal Way woman at her door

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Police arrested a teenager accused of stabbing a woman after she opened her door to give candy to a trick-or-treater Monday night.

Police said officers were called around 9 p.m.  to a home in the 31900 block of 14th Way SW and found the victim had sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound. She was taken to the hospital, police said.

She reported that she opened her door and gave candy to a trick-or-treater, described as a 14- or 15-year-old black male, who then stabbed her in the abdomen and ran away.

On Thursday, police developed probable cause to arrest a 14-year-old boy. He was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators obtained a search warrant and said they found evidence from the crime inside the home.

The teen was booked into King County Youth Center for investigation of 1st degree assault.
