'Flowers by candlelight'.. after thieves hit beloved local flower shop

EVERETT, Wash. --  Owners of a local floral shop, in business for nearly 30 years, say it’s getting tougher and tougher to cope with the criminal activity they’ve had to endure.

Security cameras are Cindy Fredrickson’s way of protecting her family business, Everett Floral.

The Fredericksons say their flower shop has survived theft, vandalism, even a devastating arson in 2011.  Everett Police are investigating after thieves nearly nipped their business in the bud, stealing their exterior electric service meter from outside the building on Tuesday night.

“We do tons of weddings and, so in our backroom we have storage full of candelabras, so we brought them out, put candles in them, lit them and it was flowers by candlelight,” says Cindy.

Snohomish County PUD says Everett Floral wasn’t the only business hit by thieves.

Just 24 hours later, two more businesses reported stolen power meters along the very same road.

Snohomish County PUD says about 50 power meters are reported lost or stolen every year and they are working on a way to help businesses keep those meters better protected.  Anyone with information on this theft should contact Everett PD.
