Traffic becomes an issue in Washington governor's race

SEATTLE -- The battle in the governor's race is potentially tightening -- and traffic has become a top issue.

According to a survey late last week by Washington Poll, which is organized by the UW, KCTS and Crosscut.com, Gov. Jay Inslee was leading Republican challenger Bill Bryant by only 4 points -- 46-42 percent.

But a recent Elway poll had Inslee with a 12-point lead, 51-39 percent.

Whatever the margin, Bryant is trying to hit Inslee where voters may feel the most frustration -- sitting in traffic. And the two candidates are at odds whether Sound Transit 3, the big transportation measure on the ballot, is the right choice for the future of the region.
