Three children wounded in hunting accident in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Authorities say three children have been wounded in a hunting accident east of Sweet Home, Oregon.

Capt. Kevin Guilford of the Linn County Sheriff's Office says a hunter called 9-1-1 Monday to report he accidentally discharged his firearm inside a vehicle, and more than one juvenile was hit.

The victims were transported to hospitals by ambulance, and one with a serious leg injury was transferred to a Portland hospital. Undersheriff Jim Yon told the Albany Democrat-Herald that one of the other children had a foot injury and the other was struck in the hand by a fragment.

Few other details were available.

Sweet Home is about 35 miles east of Corvallis.
