Michael Bennett will miss Seahawks' game; surgery a possibility

SEATTLE - Michael Bennett will miss his first game due to injury as a member of the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks released their injury report on Friday afternoon, and Bennett was among those listed as out.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Bennett had a cartilage issue and that surgery was a possibility, but that the team would evaluate Bennett on Monday before deciding.

Seattle plays at the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at 10 a.m. on the home of the Seahawks, Q13 FOX.

Bennett injured his knee two weeks ago against the Atlanta Falcons, but returned to play in the Seahawks' 6-6 tie against Arizona on Sunday night.

The report also listed left tackle Bradley Sowell as out, but Carroll said a few minutes later that Sowell was questionable and will work out before the game.

Also listed as out for the game are Thomas Rawls (fibula); Kam Chancellor (groin); and Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle), among others.
