Sound Transit 3: Will it really solve our traffic problems?

SEATTLE -- Sound Transit 3, also known as Proposition 1 on many ballots, would expand light rail and mass transit in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. The price tag is $54 billion, paid for by you the taxpayer.

The project would take 25 years to complete. In that time, our region is expected to grow by roughly 800,000 people.

Supporters say we need better mass transit, and light rail can move more people, faster, than cars or buses.

Will opponents question whether it will solve our real problem -- congestion?
