Deputies who fatally shot pregnant woman identified

SEATTLE (AP) -- Deputies who fatally shot a woman in her Auburn home Friday have been identified.

The Seattle Times reports (https://goo.gl/C7QxeX) the King County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that Nicholas Prichett and Tim Lewis fired their weapons at 23-year-old Renee Davis.

Prichett has eight years of experience and was assigned as a law-enforcement officer on the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation and Lewis has been with the department for three years.

The deputies entered the home on Muckleshoot tribal property after receiving a report that Davis could be suicidal and armed.

The sheriff's office says the deputies found Davis with a handgun. Authorities haven't said exactly what preceded the shooting but Sheriff John Urquhart says a responding Auburn officer reported seeing the butt of a pistol protruding from Davis' hand.

Urquhart says his office's Major Investigations Unit is overseeing the investigation and the results of an internal shooting review will be turned over to the U.S. Justice Department.
