Body of missing King County firefighter found

GEORGE Wash. -- The body of missing Mountain View firefighter Ken Ward was discovered Saturday near the Wild Horse Monument in Grant County.

Authorities say a man scouting for deer found the body later confirmed to be Ward. Ward's car was a short distance away.

Ward was last seen Saturday, October 15th.

Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison says there is no indication of foul play. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.

Ward worked for the Mountain View Fire & Rescue.

On their website, the department thanked everyone for searching for Ward.

Ken’s family and everyone at Mountain View Fire & Rescue would like to thank everyone that helped us in the search for Fire Firefighter Ward.

We had over 100 off-duty firefighters, police officers, and other individuals help search across the state.

This extensive search covered the entire state using personal vehicles, ATVs, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft.

Earlier this week, his family made a dramatic plea to the public in hopes of finding him.

There are no details on memorial services for Ward at this time.
